ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE? If not, you will not be eligible to vote in the upcoming June Primary Elections. If you are registered to vote, we encourage you to become acquainted with the issues and candidates and to exercise your right to vote. As an added note, for those members who reside in Santa Clara County, if you are an absentee voter, watch your mail box because the Registrar of Voters has already mailed out your ballots. End of the 2007-2008 Columbian Year The end of the 2007-2008 Columbian Year will soon be upon. Hints of this are already being seen. Lists of candidates are being read. Elections are being planned, if not already held. New officer teams are making their plans for next year's activities and events. The State Convention occurs this coming weekend in San Jose. Here at kofc8747.org, there is also a humdrum of activity going on behind the scenes. For those of you who are not frequent visitors to this site, one of the activities that takes place when transitioning from one Columbian Year to the next is the archiving of all newsletters and calendars published on this site throughout the Columbian year. For a brief period of time in July and August, there will exist two areas that will contain newsletters and calendars, the current Columbian Year, and the next Columbian Year. We refer to this as the transition period. Toward the end of August, the links to the files for the previous Columbian Year's newsletters and calendars will be disabled and only the current Columbian Year's newsletters and calendars will be available. What all Knights in good standing need to realize is that these newsletters and calendars are not destroyed but stored away. This web site has maintained all of the newsletters and calendars published on its pages since its founding years ago. In the not too distant future, we will be bringing these previous years' editions back for immediate retreival but right now, we are limited by certain server restrictions. Any Council, Assembly, or Knight who needs to get a copy of a back edition of a newsletter or calendar published on this site has to do no more than place the request via e-mail to: ebacal@ebcglobal.net Receiving Announcements From Supreme In a recen All that any Knight needs to do is go to the Supreme Website at http://www.kofc.org/un/index.cfm On the left hand side of screen is a box titled E-Mail Updates. When a member enters his e-mail address and clicks on the GO button he will be able to receive special news releases and announcements. The member might receive a confirming e-mail to confirm his election. Members are urged to take advantage of this service as there are events and announcements that need to get out quickly to the overall membership.
