In the never ending struggle to protect the unborn, the Knights of Columbus have thrown their support to an organization called Walk For Life. The first Walk For Life march occurred in 2005.
Timed to coincide with anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade that legalized abortions, The Walk For Life is an attempt to remind all that the lives of many innocent unborn children are taken every year for a myriad of reasons that are not supported nor permissible.
The day starts off with a Mass with the Fourth Degree providing Color Corps to pray for the souls of those unborn children who have been the victims of abortion and to pray for a conversation of heart and conscience of those who promote and practice this senseless taking of innocent life.
Later, when the march actually takes place, members of the Knights of Columbus, armed with walkie-talkies, act as peace keepers to make sure that the bystanders do not interfere with the partcipants.
