Awards and Recognitions

For a Council of our size, we are a pretty involved bunch of Knights. This is reflected in this website's efforts to be an effective communicator of our activities and goals as members of the Knights of Columbus. It's nice to know that someone out there takes the time to recognize our achievements. The following are just some of the awards this website has received.

Spirit and Sky

Spirit and Sky has recently informed us that our site has not only received an award for 2005 for Best Spiritual Site, we were also received an award for 2004. It is with great pleasure that we post these award recognitions.

Who is Spirit and Sky? Perhaps I'll let them explain it in their own words. "Spirit And Sky - Our Charter: Everything spiritual finally all in one easy to use, and very simple web site. All entries to this directory are reviewed by a human before inclusion. Only the best web sites are included, submission is free, so money doesn't "tempt" to make some sites appear better and higher in the listings. We do not accept spam or 100% commercial sites. We feel people come here to look for authoritative sites, and that's exactly what we look for too. Spam sites, or sites in a popup frenzy are unacceptable. State Recognition

To the complete surprise of this website's webmaster, our Worthy District Deputy Chuck Tappero came to our most recent membership meeting carrying something that looked like an award. The award, shown above, was our Council's placing 2nd for the entire State of California for Public Relations.

Our Worthy District Deputy explained that this award recognized this Council's efforts that has gone into making this website what is it today to help promote who the Knights of Columbus is not just for our immediate community, our state, but nation and the world. Our website has had a record number of visitors this year, 60,000 plus, and it looks like we will be welcoming more visitors as time goes on.

The Worthy District Deputy duly presented this award to the outgoing Grand Knight Joe Byrne who in turn re-presented it to the Council's websmaster Ed Blake recognizing the efforts. To say the least, the webmaster was completely caught by surprise.
