Recruitment

Like most service organizations, we have to compete for people's time.  Here in Silicon Valley, 60 hour work weeks, combined with travel for business and conventions, can eat into a lot of people's lives.  Combine the time requirements of one's work responsibilities with the time needed for family, friends, and other community activities and it's no wonder people are "tapped out."

Our Council, like most other Councils, conduct periodic recruitment drives to bring in new members whose participation it is hoped will help stimulate new ideas, projects, and enthusiasm.

This means that if you are going to solicit for people to join your organization, even an organization with the reputation of the Knights of Columbus, you can't live merely on your laurels.  You have to offer something that will light the spark in the hearts of Catholic men so that they give up something else to make room for you.  No longer can one say, "Put up a tent, and they will come." Or, if you wish, you can apply on line in the privacy of your own home.

If you want more information about the Knights of Columbus, please take a moment to review the Membership page on this site.  If you're at Church and see one of our members with their membership badge, ask them to take a few minutes and explain what our organization is about and why they are members.  You won't regret it.
