The Wheelchair Foundation

For those of you who have not heard of the Wheelchair Foundation, I would advise that you get with your Council's Grand Knights and Assemblies' Faithful Navigators as this will become the next major fundraiser that the Knights of Columbus becomes involved in.

Rather than try and go into the history and background of this worthy organization and the biographies of its founders, I will urge each and everyone of you to visit their web site.: http://wheelchairfoundation.org/

This organization has given away over 378,000 wheelchairs in its history to some of the most neediest of people throughout the world. Their work and efforts are to be commended and applauded.

What does this mean for us? What is means is that from Supreme on down to the smallest Council, the smallest Assembly, that the Knights of Columbus participation in this most worthy of endeavors is now a permanent part of our landscape!

When you are approached and asked to spare a few dollars, do so!! If you haven't seen one of the many videos taken at the distribution of these wheelchairs, do so. Your life will never be the same again. Upon viewing this video, and hoping that it encourages not just your financial approval and blessing but also that of actually being there to be the one who is present to meet Christ and personally be able to answer the question you will be asked, "When you did this to the least of my brethern, you did it also to me." Were you there to do so when the opportunity presented itself?
